Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

I received a DUI (first offense) in New Jersey in 2011. My license was only supposed to be suspended for 7 months. I have paid all of my court fines, surcharges, and I completed my classes and evaluation. It is almost 3 years later, my license is still suspended, and I am still unable to take care of this issue, because I have been ordered to install an ignition interlock in order to restore it, and I do not own a vehicle or have one that I would regularly operate. Is there anything I can do, such as forfeit my right to drive during the same amount of time as I would have an ignition interlock, as an alternative?

That is insane. Think it is time for a lawyer to intervene and cut the red tape.

Give me a call. I practice in both states.
