In divorced parents and one parent has full custody and the other has joint custody, How old does a child need to be to request to be with the parent who does not have them?

The standard for deciding custody is the best interests of the child. In that there are several factors the courts will consider, one being the child's wishes. However, the child's wishes is only one factor, it is not the only factor. A child less than 7 years old may not have as much impact as a child 14 years old.
