Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

What am I entitled to?

Because of domestic violence, extreme cruelty and his affair, I moved out of our house, (he refused to leave),and has not given a single penny since 10/00 for two of our three children (the oldest, 21 lives in the basement apt. of our house and the other two, 17 and 18 are with me). I was able to afford one semester of college for my 18 year old (fulltime, nursing courses), but currently have not been able to.I filed in 9/00 for divorce, proceedings have been postponed by either my soon-to-be-ex or the court until 4/16/02.He has a woman living in the house, claimed tax benefits for himself. I feel like I'm being abused again. Any laws protecting me?

Re: What am I entitled to?

Thank you for your inquiry.

It is ridiculous that your husband has not paid any child support for that period of time. A motion for pendente lite relief should have been filed by now. If the trial date is April 2002, that issue, among others, must be addressed.

It would be my pleasure to speak to you about your potential divorce. Accordingly, please feel free to contact my office at 732 246 0909 to discuss further.

Very truly yours,

Edward R. Weinstein
