Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

i filed a motion to modify my custody order about 6 weeks ago. my court date was tomorrow september 2. tonight I received a call saying the hearing had been postponed until october at my husbands request. he had plenty of notice about the court date. can he do this? is there any way I can appeal this?

A rescheduling is not a matter for appeal.

I would contact the court and see why it was changed without your consent. Perhaps the court will move the date up, especially if there are urgent reasons to change custody.
