Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

About a month ago My husband and I got into a terrible argument in front of the kids. I had really had enough and didn't want my kids subjected to his anger anymore, so I packed up a few things and the kids and I moved into my parents house. We have been doing alright in the sense of splitting time with the kids so far, but my issue is not having any of my belongings. Literally everything I own from boxes of childhood memories, to family heirlooms, from my clothes to toiletries are in that house. A house that we rent which my name is on the lease as well. He refuses to let me go and get my things until he decides its a good time for him. Everything i have bought my children in their rooms, my own bed and blankets. I am without everything and he has the final say. Is this true? Can he keep me out of the house because I left? Can he tell me I can't come and get my personal items like clothes? I have a key and again my name is on the lease. Please help. I hate all this fighting :(
