Re: Power of attornet or guardianship of a minor

In Missouri it would be sufficient for you to grant the aunt a specifice power of attorney. A guardianship would certainly not be needed or appropriate. However, you or the aunt should check with a New Jersey attorney to be sure that a power of attorney will be accepted by the schools, hospitals, etc. in New Jersey if the need arises. If you are located in the eastern half of the state and are not already represented by legal counsel, I would be able to prepare the power of attorney for you at a modest cost. However,I could not guarantee that it would be accepted in New Jersey. You may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
