Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

trial seperation in NJ. if couple puts an agreement in writing listing split of liquid assets and that the spouse leaving the residence is not giving up rights to property upon it's sale, and has it witnessed and notarized by a notary public will it be a binding document or must it be done by an attorney?
