Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

legality of using a cctv camera to monitor my property

I have installed a survaillence camera on the exterior of my house to monitor my property against vandalism and tresspassing. The camera has a view of the street in front of my house and the neighbor's front lawns and houses across the street. The camera operates when it detects motion on my property and records the event. Is this legal?
