Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

noisy neighbors

The house next door to us has been rented several times this is the third time our peace and quiet has been distroyed by these inconsiderate neighbors. The first people were evicted after the town came in and found 20 people living there. The next people thankfully moved after a year and many, many complaints to the property manager and owner by us. Now the new people have very loud cars that they let run and rev up the engine and have friends come over and they work on the friends cars so they are funning for hours at a time and playing very loud music also. We are in our home with the windows shut and the TV on and it still sounds like the car and music are in our house. We have called the property manager many times to complain and we have had the police here twice and they have spoken to the renters. But nothing stops them. What recourse do we have? Our town has quality of life laws but even the officer who runs that department does not seem to call us back. Can we sue the owner of the house or the town for not doing anything? My husband had a stroke a year ago when the 2nd renters were there and The doctor said that yelling could have brought it on ,he was always yelling and getting angry about all the noise next door.

Re: noisy neighbors

You may file a nuisance suit against the neighbors and the owner. You may ask the court for an injunction preventing further noise and for damages for the loss of quiet enjoyment of your property.
