Venue depends on the nature of the deal. The first question is usually "where would you like it to be venued." Since you are the plaintiff, you may have a choice of where to bring the suit and in which court. If the services were to be perfomed in NC, you may have no choice but to bring the suit there. However the advantages of being able to litgate closer to home are considerable. You may want to have a business lawyer review the facts to see if NJ is also an appropriate venue. /p/ My firm handles matters of this type. If I can be of further help to you, call or email. /p/ See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm
