Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

divorce before filing or interview

I came to this country on a student visa then working at a restaurant met a girl and we've been married for 8 months, every time she gets mad or doesn't get things her way she threatens to not help me change my status or even to get me deported. I left the house so I'm staying at my friend's. Should I just jump on a plane and go back, she wants to get divorced, I'll let her deal with that cause after this experience marriage is not for me. Or can I still pursue my legal stay in this country? I feel like she used me for my money cause I helped her pay some debt she had to fix her credit and later on try to help her buy a car and a house for us but now that her debt is paid she changed.

Re: divorce before filing or interview

You do have an uphill battle if she has not filed any forms for you at all. I would need to know what your current status is? It is impossible to advise you whether you should stay or leave without further details on your status (or if you are out of status), how long you've been in or out of status, etc.

Feel free to give me a call and we can discuss it for a few minutes on the phone.
