Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

I filed my H1b Petition last year through my Employer to work for a Client in California. Got stamped in Dec 2011. This Feb (26th) I landed in the US - at New Jersey to work for a different Client , my employer provided me LCA.

Now, my wife got her H4 visa 10 days back.

My employer says she cannot travel until you have the H1b Ammendment receipt number. She has to carry it while travelling along with LCA.

Is this true?

Thanks,

Hello:

You cannot be petitioned by one H-1B employer and work at another. You must get an H-1B approved with the new employer.
