Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

I was issued a social security card/number in 2010 when i was on a J1 visa...I LOST THE CARD and i couldnt get a replacement since i left USA back to my country as my visa was up...fast foward 4 years later am back on a b2 visitor visa and i got married(bonafide)...now am applying for my greencard and on the form i-485 it asks social security number and the problem is that i dont remember...i went to the social security office and they told me due to my current status as just visitor i dont have the authorization to get a replacement card.....the issue now is, do i leave the part that says social security number blank or what do i fill in there as i don't remember the number and the social security off ice wont give me my number...

Leave it blank, and when you get your work permit, you can go to the Social Security office to obtain a replacement card. Just make sure you let the USCIS officer know at the time of the interview.
