Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

I am in need of legal advise with regards to residency requirements (more specifically, continuous residence reqmts) to apply for citizenship. I recently became a permanent resident but my job requires me to travel back and forth between India and the U.S. How many days in a year do I have to be physically present in the United States in order to satisfy residency requirements for citizenship.

There is no requirement for "how many days in a year" a lawful permanent resident has to remain in USA. LPR can't stay abroad for longer than one year at a time, or 6 months at a time. Staying abroad for lonre than 6 months at a time will break continuity of residency. Staying abroad for longer than a year, can lead to abandonment of residency.

If you need a legal advice specific to your situation, you should consult a lawyer before going abroad.
