Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New Jersey

Hello, I'm a freelance graphic designer. I'm having doubts about having my own personalized contract for all my services. Would it be better if I have a lawyer create one for me?

Most freelancer contracts I have come across are inadequate. They typically fall short in the payment terms, intellectual property protections and work product deliverables. Another problematic scenario involves the hiring of freelance sub-contractors that you may need to use for a project. Those agreements need to be really specific otherwise the hiring freelancer might end up with a liability.

It is great that you are mindful of the need to have a solid set of documents. Feel free to contact my office at your earliest convenience to get this going.
