Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New Jersey

Idea Submissions to companies

In 1995 I submitted a proposal to Cellular one/AT&T, the idea went national in 1999. I am able to prove I submitted the idea in 1995, however I did not reserve my rights in the letter (it was stated as a proposal but not confidential nor conditional), However I also did not relinquish my rights to the idea. Am I protected in any way to make claim? Are there any case laws that protect the submitter of an idea (I did not sign any release forms) from big companies?

No. Had you obtained a patent or a non-disclosure agreement, the result may be different.

Idea alone is not protected. But I would be interested in knowing...how strongly can you prove it was your idea...do you still remember the contact names in Cellular One. May be we can figure out someway to approach them for some compensation. E-mail me in details
