Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

unemployment benefits

I work for a temp agency. I was laid off and informed them. They are denying my claim because I don't call them every week. They told me that they would call me when the find something. I have called but not weekly to check and left messages that were not answered. What can i do about this.
