Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I work for the county. A cowoker was fired by administration. I do not know the reason. She

has a wrongfull termination suit pending against the county. I use to mentor her & we got along fine. Now the director of the agency told me that the county attorney will be coming in to talk to me! Why! Am I obligated to answer this attorney's questions? Can I refuse to cooperate? Not sure if I need an attorney.

Locksley Wade Law Office of Locksley O. Wade

You should cooperate but be careful with your answers (no speculation; yes or no answers; and watch out if they ask you to testify on their behalf) Ask them questions, such as, what is the suit about (sex discrimination, harassment, age. FMLA etc.). Its likely that they are looking for evidence to discredit your friend.
