Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

I Went to see an Apartment. There was one available now for $750. and another larger becoming available the first of the month for $900.00. So I paid the $750.00 and paid the security for the $900 so that I could have the larger apartment as of the first. The first of the month came and the landlord wanted the rent and said the apartment was going to be ready in a couple of days and I had to pay the $900 for the larger apartment even though it was not ready, so I did. Now its already the 9th of the month, apartment is still not ready. I asked if I would get the difference back between the two rents because the more expense apartment is still not ready. She said no. See said if I want to argue with her I can move out. What recourse do I have, without her asking me to move out.
