Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

If someone gets evicted on an annual agreement with only 3 months to go, do they still have to pay the remaining rent? The reason for the eviction is because of non-payment of April rent. The check was sent to landlord but never got there. The copy of the check was sent to the landlady to prove it and she was told the rent would be paid as soon as was possible but it would takea while because the bank said although the payment was stopped on the check the check could not be reissued for 90 days. She said she wanted full amount of May and April rent sent to her in 3 days.

Yes assuming the LL does not re rent the place. I do not understand how you could be legally evicted in 3 days in NJ since there is a Court's intervention is required to legally evict.
