Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

I live in NJ and just rented a house for a year. The landlord keeps coming here on a daily basis and going into the basement of the house we rented because he said he keeps stuff for his work down there. This was never mentioned to us before we signed the lease and there in nothing in the lease saying we share the property with him. I can only find rights about him coming into the dwelling but nothing about him coming on the property and going in the basement. We pay $1500 a month rent. It is a single family home. He doesn't give us notice until he pulls in the drivway he texts me to say he is here. I feel like there should be laws about this and bfore we confront him I would like to be prepared. he also hasn't changed his address and comes and looks in our mailbox everyday to get his mail. He also uses our electric when he comes in the basement. Its quite annoying and I hope he isn't allowed by law to invade our privacy any time he wants. Thank you. Cathy McHale

If you have leased the whole house, the landlord has no right to impose on your quiet enjoyment of the premises. He can come at reasonable times for purposes connected with managing the property. If you need some help with this you can give me a call.
