Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New Jersey

due to dr. can no longer have children

hello, early this year my gynocologist gave me my yearly pap test. He sent me a letter saying i had cervical cell change and a biopsy was needed. He called me with the biopsy results and said it was malignant for cervical cancer and i was going to need a LEEP procedure done. In my pre-op visit he told me it was pre-malignant and now i just found out on my files it was cervical dysplasia (not cancer). the gynocologist i am seeing now says i never needed to procedure and I have NO left side of my cervics leaving me able to get pregnant but never hold a child. Along with this doctor comes many other problems but this is the main one. Tell me, i do have a case right? should i bother seeing a lawyer?

You certainly should have been advised of the option of not having surgery now if the PAP smear findings were cervical dysplasia. One of the options probably would have been close monitoring of the cervix with follow up PAP smears, which would have allowed you time to become pregnant and deliver a child. However, I would like to find out other information, such as, is there a history of cervical cancer in the family, your age, other options to delivering a child as explained to you by your 2d GYN, etc. Please feel free to call. It would be no charge to speak with me about your possible case.
