Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

Negligence

A few years back I was injured in a municipal park when a soccer goal which was not secured was blown over by the wind and fell on my back. At the time I was minor and my parents did not take action against the municipality. Since that time I have had many problems relating to that injury. I completed all of my therapies and am still having a great deal of pain because of this injury. Am I entitled to sue the municipality for negligence since the goal was not secured properly?, In addition is there a statute of limitations on these types of cases?

Re: Negligence

Thank you for your inquiry.

If you were a minor when the accident occurred, then the statute of limitations will not begin to run until you turn 18 years of age. Furthermore, under certain situations, the statute of limitations may be overcome as well. However, I need to learn more facts before drawing any final conclusions.

As it would be my pleasure to speak to you regarding your potential law suit, please feel free to contact my office at 732 246 0909 to discuss same.

Very truly yours,
