Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

pedestrian Illegal immigrant hit by car and injured

Two illegal immigrant workers on bicycles were run down by a drunk driver,on a suspended licsense, that left the scene of the accident. The police tracked the car due to eye witnesses, the suspect was arrested. These poor men have been injured have medical bills and lost certain property as well as some injuries and pain due to this accident. Is there any problem with a law suit against the auto insurace company and the fact that they are illegal aliens? what is the current status of a situation like this? what are their rights?

Re: pedestrian Illegal immigrant hit by car and injured

Thank you for your inquiry.

These two gentlemen can certainly pursue a law suit for the injuries that they have sustained due to the negligence of this drunk driver. Specifically, their immigration status does not effect their ability to sue.

As my office handles many personal injury and wrongful death matters, please contact my office at 732-246-0909 to discuss your case.

Very truly yours,

Edward R. Weinstein
