Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Our family is purchasing a foreclosed upon property in NJ. We were told at the last minute that the name on the title is still in the foreclosed upon parties name--that the proper papers executing the name change were not filed. Is it reasonable to allow the title company and its attorneys to rectify this?

Some facts are missing and a response cannot be given on the facts as presented. Whose name is on the Deed and whose is on the Contract? There has been a lot of foreclosure fraud in NJ and unless there is verification that the foreclosure is legitimate and has been finalized, the transaction is questionable. If this is a "short-sale" has the lending institution consented? Some of these transactions take a while to finalize properly, so be cautious until completed.
