I paid my landlord his rent and he did not give me reciets and now he claims that I never paid rent or stop paying rent an is sueing me for the money and wants me out of the house. the house is falling apart and it is bug infested. I have a baby and I am a single mother. I have no money at the present time to get another place. what could I do to prevent him from getting my baby taken away. No lawer wants to take my case. Can you give me advise.

If the apartment is bug infested, you should sue your landlord under the "warantee of habitability." Every landlord has a duty to make his rental units safe and sanitary for his tenants.

I would also contact your local mayor's office. They should be able to put you in contact with whatever agency oversees local landlords.
