Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Can a landlord bring civil action for eviction on a tenant for rent owed on a previous lease? Example: April 2010 we missed a rent payment. We renewed our lease in June 2010.

From the way you described it you curd your missed payment and if so I don't see how your Landlord can evict you.

If the rent is still due, maybe. It all depends what has happened in the interim. If the landlord accepted a new lease, it may have cured the defect of a missed payment. However, if the Landlord has continuously billed you for the missed payment, it may still be due, although possibly not grounds for eviction. More facts are required for better than a general answer.
