Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

I live in NJ, and I am on the title but not the note. My husband is on the note. I want my name removed so I can move out of state and buy my own house. Can I do a quit claim deed and remove my name?

Yes, but only if your husband is willing to accept such a deed from you. As an owner or co-owner of real estate, you can only divest yourself of ownership or co-ownership if someone is willing to accept the conveyance of your interest.
