Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Money owed to me

In 9/07 loaned my sis and boyfriend money to move in a rental. Each check was labeled what it was for in the memo spot (loan for security, 1.5 months rent, agents fee etc.) each check was made out to my sis in the pay to the order of spot to give to each person or business. Anyway she passed away in june, seeing how both of them signed the leased can i hold him responsable for repaying me?

You can try but unless you have a signed note, you don't have very much to go on in court.

You have claims against your sister's estate. As to the boyfriend, if his name is on the lease you may be able to sue him as a 3rd party beneficiary of your loan to your sister. However, it would be a difficult proof case. Any chance they had a joint account and the check went into it? That could help.
