Previous owner claimed house had a new roof and it leaks
I purchased a house 2 years ago from a man who claimed that the roof was only 4 years old. It has leaked since we moved in. He came by once but really offered no help - the leaks seem to be getting worse. Is he liable?

If the representation was in writing, you may have a claim for fraud, both against the seller and the broker. Did you have a home inspection? Was the roof included? Did the contract allow you to have an inspection? If you failed to have the roof inspected, you may be out of luck. I need more information to better reply.
