property loss

my sons car was parked in a friends driveway and a car came onto the neigbors lawn and crashed into my sons car. 1994 honda accord in good condition. the mans insurance will pay 1500 they say it is all it is worth. Well the troubls is my son had a perfectly good car and now they want me to try to replace it with 1500.. i tryed for 3 days to find his car and i found a 1995 honda but it is 3400 and the insurance wont pay for it they will only give me 1500.. im sorry but i think this was no fault of ours and they should have the car replaced or restitution for the inconvience at least. What should i do? thankyou

I'm sorry to hear of your son's problems. You posted your question under "Real Estate and Real Property" - which means houses, land, other buildings. I do not handle cases with the issues you describe.

Please check other categories on LawGuru to find a lawyer who could give you some direction. It may be under property damage, or torts, or car accidents.

Also, insurance adjusters [not from the other car's insurance company] will often assist people whose property has been damaged, by negotiating for a more realistic reimbursement. They do charge a fee for their services.
