quitclaim deed

Hi,

I need to transfer the ownership of my primer residence

to my former spouse, who own 1/2 of that single family dweling. What document do I need to file???

You need an attorney to prepare a deed and affidavit of title and then record the documents. The cost is usually about $200 plus $50 filing fee.

A simple quit-claim Deed would be required. If you are not selling the property, but the Deed is reqired to finalize a divorce settlement, I suggest adding an Affidavit of Consideration, which will reduce your total costs for recording the Deed. If you need assistance, please contact me.
