Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

A recent violent rain storm caused a large tree limb, originating from a tree on my property, to fall onto my neighbor's property, causing minor damage to his wooden fence. Am I responsible to repair his fence and remove the limb from his property? Wouldn't he have to prove with an expert that the limb was from my tree?

You are responsible for damage done by things coming from your property. No expert is required except that you might need one if you want to defend on the basis that the limb is not from your tree. You should report the matter and tender the claim to your insurance carrier. /p/ See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm
