Legal Question in Social Security Law in New Jersey

Pension

When I sign paper at my husband lawyer, I was intitled to some his pension, once he retired, well he retired from last year. And I haven't heard anything from his job or anything and hes planning to move to his country plus he re-married after the disvoice.

Re: Pension

Don't confuse a pension from his employer with your right to a Social Security benefit. The divorce agreement cannot effect your right to Social Security. You should call or go to you local Social Security office and inquire about your rights to spousal benefits.

You should re-post the pension question in the family law or divorce section. or Contact your local county Bar Association/ Lawyer referral service for a family/divorce lawyer in your area who can bring legal action to enforce the divorce contract regarding any private pension benefits.
