Legal Question in Social Security Law in New Jersey

i have my social security direct deposit. I had a car reposessed because of the current employement situation, I have none. The car company has put a lien on my checking account. The only thing that gets deposited is my Social Security Check. I called social security and they told me only a federal lein could be taken out of my ss check. where do I stand with this

Generally, Social Security is an exempt asset and should not be levied against. By law, you are to receive notice regarding a bank levy. The notice will also provide you a means of appeal.

You will need to explain that the only asset that is deposited into the account is your Social Security.
