Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Careless Driving downgraded to Unsafe Manner

i recv'd a Careless Driving ticket for tapping someones rear bumper. There was no damage but the driver insisted on calling the police anyway. I recently went to an attorney who told me the only way out with zero points is pleading guilty to Unsafe manner charge (39:497.2 ) this sounds like a bad deal. Is this this only way out of this ticket? A 2nd opinion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks you.

The only other way is to take your case to trial and try to win your case that way. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in varous courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

You could also take the case to trial or get another charge such as obstruction which is less than a $100 total fine.
