Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Failure to stop of yeild

I got a ticket for going through a clear yellow light. the cop said that it was green on his side. I was going the speed limit through the light and it was green when i entered the intersection and half way through it turned yellow. Also the interection was not long at all. what is the Nj law conserning this matter is there anything i can do to get this dimissed. i know in some states if you are already in the interesection and the light is yellow you can safely pass through the interesection with out any penalty. are there any legal codes i can use for dismisal.

Re: Failure to stop of yeild

I don't believe that there is any way to get the ticket dismissed since the police officer felt that he had probable cause to issue the ticket. If you want to fight the ticket you can demand a trial and then try to convince the judge you are right and the police made a mistake. The other option is to try to amend this 2 point ticket down to a 0 point ticket. I am an attorney who has handled very many cases similar to yours in various courts in New Jersey in the past.
