Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Handicap Parking Laws

I unknowingly parked in a handicap parking spot. There were no blue lines, they were all in fading white paint, the only sign posted was in the middle of two spots with no arrows

( ie. --- ) showing the sign was for both spots. It was dark and I was in a hurry, so with out all the clear distinction I recieved a ticket. Although I know the time I was there doesn't matter, but I was there only for 3 minutes max, and as the officer gave me the ticket, he said he was sitting there for 5 plus minutes, which was an utter lie seeing as how I know how long I was parked ther AND he pulled in the lot after me! Do I have any legal standing?

Thank you in advance for your time

Re: Handicap Parking Laws

if it wasn't clearly marked, take pictures and fight it. The judge will probablyhlet you off if you show that it was confusing and poorly marked.
