Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Hello,

We have a handicapped parking space in front of our house, we requested it and was approved 2 years ago. Last week we got a ticket for parking in our own handicapped parking space, the placard was not hanging on the rear view mirror, but was on the car's visor, but still we got the ticket. We'll like to fight it in court, any advise, we have the placard and ID card, thank you.

If you just got the ticket, call the Court and ask for a Court date. When you go to Court (and you should) speak to the prosecutor and show him your sticker and explain to him that is your personal parking space which in front of your home. It is possible that the offcier did not see the handicapped badge. Hopefully the prosecutor will agree to recommend that that the ticket be dismissed, if not you will need to explain the situation to the Judge. It sounds like you have a reasonable defense to the ticket. let me know how you make out, good luck (201)-894-9498
