Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I got a parking ticket on Mar. 2, 2010 in park in New Jersey, because that place is not allow parking after 10:00pm, and the court date is 03/15 if I want to.

I checked online almost everyday and wanted to pay it since the ticket didn't mention how much I neet to pay.

In March, I couldn't find any information in system, so I call the Newark munipal court for four times, every representatives said that they couldn't find the ticket in the system, and I couldn't appear in court either because there was no any information.

Until yesterday(April 6) I got mail from Newark munipal court said that I failed to pay the ticket and failed to appear in court, I need to pay addtional late fee before April 14th.

I could locate the ticket number from the mail though, and found that the ticket number on my ticket is different with the number in system, that's why those representitive couldn't find it in system. also the location in the system is wrong.

I don't think it is my fault to delay the payment, should I go to the court?

and Is there any court fee if I go to the court?

Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

If you live in the Newark area, ask for a hearing and send them a copy of their letter--they may just thr9w the ticket out but don;t ignore it---fight it
