Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Suspended Driver's License

I had an colission accident in 1992, and my license was suspended in 1995 w/o my knowledge because I relocated in late part of 1992. I came back in 1995 and about to renew my license in 1996 when I found out that license was suspended and the lawyers are asking me pay so much money to reinstate my license. I didn't have that much money at that time so I let it go since I don't have a car anyways, and I study at night and work in New York where driving is not a necessity. That was 8 years ago. Now do I still need to settle with the lawyers to reinstate my driver's license. Is there any other way to at least pay lesser money just to settle get my driver's license back. Please advise. Thank you.

Re: Suspended Driver's License

If your license was suspended due to a money judgment related to a car accident which was not covered by insurance, you don't have to pay the lawyers if you declare bankruptcy. Once your bankruptcy is filed, the judgment is out the window and DMV will reinstate your license because the judgment was discharged in bankruptcy. I specialize in bankruptcy, and these types of license matters. Call me 201-646-9799
