Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Traffic Summones

I was issued summones for driving with cancelled insurance and found my license and registration privileges had been suspended. I've been driving for almost 40 years and never had a point on my driving record or any moving violiation tickets. It was my own irresponsibility and negelect that I just didn't take care of my insurance. What happens now? Should I get an attorney before I go to court?

Re: Traffic Summones

The offense requires a mandatory one year loss of your driving priveleges as well as high fines. If you ever get convicted of this a second time then you must go to jail. You should probably hire a lawyer just because they may have more influence and may possibly be able to persuade the prosecutor to amend the summons to some other charge that does not require a loss of your license. If you go on your own you will probably find yourself having no choice but to plead guilty and lose your driver's license. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

A charge of driving without insurance

exposes you to the loss of your driving privileges for a year, at a minimum; you need to hire an attorney.

Call me if you like. Your situation is not hopeless.
