Re: wrong date on speeding ticket

The problem is that he handed the ticket to you giving you notice of when the offense occurred. The ticket can be amended within a small window of time which I believe is 30 days. I would have to briefly look up the applicable time limitation on issuing a traffic summons. I am always re-reading rules and laws to insure that I correctly remember them.

Call me if you like.

Re: wrong date on speeding ticket

Simple answer is no and even if you could, I doubt that you could get much done by yourself. You would probably have to appeal the case to get anywhere with that argument and the Courts allow police to correct tickets outside of the statute of limitations. On top of that, the NJSP has never actually ruled that the 30 day SOL is a real SOL, they reserved on that issue. So, I suggest that you speak with an attorney if you want to try to avoid the points.
