Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

20 years ago my father passed away he did not have a will. My mother took over the house. She just passed away and we do not know if she had a will. Is there a site on line I can pay a fee to search vital records as I am coming up with nothing besides calling Trenton NJ.

You should have a title company do a search of the title to see who owns the house [I assume it would be your mother's estate, but you should verify that].

Don't bother calling Trenton to look for her will, you'll be wasting your time. They have no such records there, and there is no "will registry" that holds copies of unprobated wills....If your mother had a will, you will need to search for it...safe deposit box or lawyers office are the two most common places.
