If a divorced mother passes away with an old will giving everything to her divorced spouse leaving her 3 young adult children behind does the ex husband still receive the proceeds of the estate or as stipulated in the old will that the children get equal share if the both die at the same time prevail.

No, the former spouse would not inherit in the situation you describe. In NJ divorce revokes the designation of the former spouse as a beneficiary under the old will.
