Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

The estate lawyer told me that the executor's will give me a informal accounting of the assets and debits of the estate before the probate. I want a complete and detailed accounting to determine if there is fowl play. One of the executor's is not trustworthy and didn't respect my mother's wishes as power of attorney.

You certainly have the right to petition the court and demand a formal accounting of the estate, however, this will show only what existed at the time of your mother's death. If assets are missing that you were aware of, you should notice it right away. If you believe that the executor improperly took assets while using the power of attorney, that shuld also be brought before the court. Thank you.
