Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

My husband settled his parents estate 5 years ago. Recently it has been discovered that the executor his sister mis represented the wills specific instruction of any out standing debt which caused us to pay more than what was instructed. Is there any statures of time to go back to the mistake and have her held accountable?

To provide you with an answer, I would need to review a copy of the Will and any estate accounting or any release documents you may have signed.

However, if you signed a release upon reciept of your share of the estate, it is unlikely that now, 5 years after the fact, you could sue the executor, unless you could prove fraud [which is often very difficult to do].
