Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

IOU's

My mother is very ill and may pass any day. I had 1 brother, and I am the daughter. My brother is deceased. We were both named in the will. My Brother borrowed 20K and wrote an IOU which has ''disappeared'' though other family members are aware of the debt which was never repayed. Can this be deducted from any portion the grandchildren may recieve (the grandchildren had my mother sign a will with their names on it in NJ)?

Re: IOU's

I cannot answer this question without knowing more information about the situation. It is possible that this debt could be recovered under certain circumstances but might not be under others. If you would like to retain me for this matter, send me an email to [email protected].
