Is a will from New Jersey Valid in Arizona?

Yes, so long as it was properly executed and witnessed in accordance with New Jersey law. If the person is deceased and lived in Arizona at the time of death, the will would be probated in Arizona.

Thank you for your inquiry. Generally, a Will that was validly executed in one state will be valid if the person who signed the Will moves to another state. However, if it has been more than a couple of years since the Will was prepared, and if you do not plan to return to NJ, it would be advisable to have an AZ attorney review your Will and advise you about whether it should be updated to reflect your current circumstances.
