Power of Attorney june 1989

I am power of attorney for my dad dated above. It is a general power of attorney takes effect regardless of disa bility. is it expired? he is still alive and he wishes me to be his power of attorney still.

I would need to review the terms of the document, but it is likely that the power of attorney is still in effect. Nevertheless, your father should probably execute a new POA because the law concerning POA's has changed several times since 1989 (especially with regard to banking powers).

If the power of attorney (POA) states it is not affected by disability, it is referred to as a Durable POA; it sounds like it is still valid, but new laws may/probably would suggest/require a new revised document.
